What a lovely mosque. Where is it?
Did you buy the abaya, or did they lend it to you so that you could go into the mosque “dressed decently”?

This is in Abu Dhabi too. They lend the Abaya to me, but it is surprisingly long enough. I think about buying one though…

An abaya is a good investment if you are planning on spending more time there. They are quite practical. They are nicest if you get them tailored. In Muscat a number of western businesswomen also wore them (always without headcovering). They were practical and looked really nice.

Oh, I looked up the mosque. You went to THAT mosque! I was sent pictures when it first opened, and they were so breathtaking! Is the mosque used at all, or is it purely a ceremonial prestige object (like the big mosque in Casablana ….so sad; such a beautiful mosque there, and no one actively uses it).

I am not sure if it is in use or not I did not went there during prayer time. As well the mosque is not in the center of the city you need a while to get there. Everything around it is still under construction. Also it seems to come with a VIP entrance, at least a guard told us to use another entrance because the one we wanted to enter through was for VIPs only.

Mmm, if it is outside the city, then it is only used on special occasions. It’s just too much trouble to go to a mosque that isn’t near where you live or work. So definitely only a Prestigebau.
