Today is my last day in Buraimi. I am packing up and have the feeling that my suitcases shrunk even if I already send 65 KG home by mail. The three book fairs made my luggage a lot heavier.
I am sad to leave the Gulf, my room mate Anne and the good weather. The next step is to go to Beirut, attend a conference and meet some friends and then head home to Oslo. Brrrr. This will be soooo cold. At the moment I have the feeling I will come back soon. Tomorrow I will do my last souvenir shopping in Dubai: dibs, camel-milk-chocolate and Mehad Hamed CDs and maybe I will get myself a new mp3 player since mine did not survive the washing machine.

the mp3 player didn’t surivive, because the machine didn’t have a program saying’ mp3-player’. next time wash a child!
enjoy your last day! and don’t be too sad! we are happe to see you again!
I can so understand being sad to leave Buraimi. It sounds like a very nice place to live. But think of it this way: it is about to get very, very hot and nasty. Oslo is cool now, but in a few weeks will be beautiful.
Beirut sounds FANTASTIC! Wish I could fit myself in your suitcase and come along.
Good luck at the conference. Are you presenting or just participating?
