I have a friend for hiking. She also goes to the cinema with me but mostly we eat and we walk. She is Malaysian and lives here since some years. Unfortunately she will move to Munich soon. But for the time being we hang out.
Last week she took me to Haw Par Villa which is a kind of religious theme park. It shows lots of scenes from Chinese mythology but the best part are the rooms that lead you through the ten stages of hell. As you can see on the pictures different forms of torture apply when you sin in different ways. After the theme park we went to Labrador park which is amazing as it is rain forest grown over ruins of second world war bunkers. When you get out of this park you end up at the waterfront. Chinese families on the lawn have pick nick others meet in public dance groups and the rest is playing out door games.
This weekend we walked for three ours through several parks. The walk is called Southern Ridges and leads you from one park to another. My favorite part was crossing the Henderson Wave which is a bridge that won a design price. It is designed by IJP Corporation that usually make bridges and the Singaporean architects of RSP Architects Planners and Engineers.
